National College of Natural Medicine Abuja
The purpose of the college is to retrain practitioners.
There are five grades of membership as follows:
1. AFFILIATED MEMBERS: This consist mainly
of health shop proprietors, Non-Physicians involved in the Natural
Health Trade, Supporters of Natural Medicine, Members of Relevant
Pressure Groups and Members of Professions Supplementary to Medicine,
health workers, traditional birth attendants, traditional healers.
2. ASSOCIATE MEMBERS: This consist of
natural health Practitioners with a minimum of W.A.S.C in G.C.E
(Ordinary Level), who have trained in Natural Medicine and are involved
in full time practice for up to five years. Evidence of training
certificates and diplomas must be presented for scrutiny.
3. FULL MEMBERS: Qualified Doctors with relevant
University Education, Degrees and Professional Diplomas in any aspect of
Natural Medicine Physiotherapist, Dentists, Pharmacists, Medical
Laboratory Scientists etc.

||4. FELLOWSHIP: This is a special honor bestowed on
well established Physicians in Natural Medicine, based on contribution
through long services to humanity, research findings, inventions and
innovations. Scientific discoveries and breakthrough, distinguished and
exemplary practice in Natural Medicine.
5. MERIT AWARD/ HONOURARY FELLOWSHIP: This is
awarded to deserving members of the lay public, as identified on
recommendation by members. Nominations for Honorary Fellowship must be
backed with full Curriculum Vitae on the achievement of the Nominee in
terms of qualification, and service to humanity. An Honorary fellowship
is equivalent to Honorary Doctorate (Doctor of Natural Science). This
award must be subject to the approval of the Entire Membership.

alternative medicine that deals with the use of natural substances such

Osteopathy medicine is a form of drug free non
invasive holistic manual medicine that focuses on total body health by
treating and strengthening the musculoskeletal frame work, which
includes the joints, muscles and spine. The philosophy of osteopathy is
what sets it apart from other medical disciplines. Osteopaths believe
the body structure and function are closely related and
interdependent. The human body is an integrated functional unit and for
the body to work well, its structure must also work well. Structure
governs function. The following conditions can be managed; Lordosis,

Acupuncture is a Chinese oriented medical practice
that deals with the use of specific filiform needles on selected points
(acu points) in the body to achieve the following; to procure anesthesia
for surgery, to treat diabetes, to treat migraine headache, to mediate
all forms of pain, high blood pressure, erectile dysfunction, stroke,
